by William
Shakespeare
“If music be the food of love, play on.”
A shipwreck. Cross-dressing deception. Fools. Siblings. A
duke, a lady, their servants, and the misguided complications in which they are
ensnared. These are just some of the ingredients that have made
Twelfth Night one of Shakespeare’s most
beloved comedies. At its heart, it’s about love—of
course—but also about female empowerment, and
a whole slew of other things that still resonate today.
